FEBRUARY 10TH, 2016

REGULAR MEETING

The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting February 10th, 2016 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, Ohio.

Tyler Smith leads in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Scharville calls roll call. Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet were present.

Ungaro motioned to approve the minutes dated January 6th, 2016. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Ungaro motioned to authorize payment for all outstanding bills for the township. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.

Paul Canter was present to give the financial report for December 2015. Revenue – $127,429.63 and Expenditures - $258,818.26.

Lidle motions to approve MS Consultants to be the engineer for the sidewalk project. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.

The Public Hearing for the Lighting District was announced for March 9th, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.

 

PARK COMMITTEE:

Mike Heher gives monthly report. Discussed the vandalism in the park. The board discussed this for several minutes.

 

RECYCLING DEPARTMENT:

There is no report ready for the month of January.

 

ZONING DEPARTMENT:

Bob Monus gives monthly report.

 

ROAD DEPARTMENT:

Tom Monus gives monthly report.

Lidle motions to accept the verbal resignation of Daniel Kountz effective February 8th, 2016. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.

 

POLICE DEPARTMENT:

Chief Goodin gives monthly report.

Lidle motions to approve $1,000 contribution to the Crisis Support Team for the year 2016. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.

Lidle motions to approve the purchase of bullet proof vests from Red Diamond not to exceed $3,900. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Tina & Terry Ryan – 7938 Eastbrook Trail – Discusses animal abuse concerns.

Ungaro motions to go into executive session at 6:51 p.m. for the purpose of personnel. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.
