The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting February 13, 2019 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road Poland, Ohio.
Mrs. Wollet leads the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Canter calls roll call. Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers are present.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve regular minutes dated January 9, 2019. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes-Kempers, Wollet and Ungaro. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro motions to authorize payment for all outstanding bills for the township. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Wollet, Kempers and Ungaro. Motion carried.
Mr. Canter was present, financial report was unavailable due to closing year ends.
Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #19-07 Transfers $150,000 from general fund to police fund. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Kempers, Ungaro and Wollet. Motion carried.
Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #19-08 Advance from general fund of $87,203.00 to road fund. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Wollet, Ungaro and Kempers. Motion carried.
Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #19-09 approve $87,203.00 from the road fund for road improvement project benefitting Zedaker Acres neighborhood. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #19-10 tax advances for the real estate. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #19-11 Bond resolution-amendment. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Kempers, Wollet and Ungaro. Motion carried.
PARK COMMITTEE:
Mr. Filicky is present to give report.
ZONING DEPARTMENT:
Bob Monus is present to give monthly report.
- 4 additional improvements valued at $135,024; fees of $1,033; 15 violations for the month.
- Total monthly valuation of $135,024; total fees of $1,033.
Ungaro motions to appoint Gene McCullough under the zoning commission for a five year term expiring in 2023. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion passed.
Ungaro motions to appoint Paul Sherman under zoning commission for a four year term expiring in 2022. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion passed.
Ungaro motions to appoint Ricky Morrison under zoning appeals for a five year terms expiring in 2023. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion passed.
Ungaro motions to appoint John Grahovac as a one year alternate expiring 2019. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Kempers, Wollet and Ungaro. Motion passed.
ROAD DEPARTMENT:
Mr. Monus is present to give monthly report.
Ungaro motions for repairs on the 450 truck up to $3,000 to Knuckle Busters. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Wollet, Ungaro and Kempers. Motion passed.
Ungaro motions not to exceed $3,000 to Everbrite to clean the Village streets once the weather breaks. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Kempers, Ungaro and Wollet. Motion passed.
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief Goodin is present to give monthly report.
Ungaro motions to approve annual contribution of $2,000 to support Crisis Response Team. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Wollet, Kempers and Ungaro. Motion passed.
Ungaro motions to approve the purchase of ammunition for firearms qualifications from Kiesler Police Supply in the amount not to exceed $2,200.00. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes- Wollet, Ungaro and Kempers. Motion passed.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Patricia McQuillan asked for clarification of the amount advanced to the road fund.
Darlene Boerio, 7345 Clovermeade Rd. expressed her opinion to the board about the street project.
