The Poland Township Board of Trustees held a special meeting August 14, 2019 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland Ohio.

Mr. Ungaro opens the special meeting.

Mr. Catsoules led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mr. Scharville calls roll call. Mr. Kempers, Mr. Ungaro, and Mrs. Wollet were present.

This meeting is for hearing the over view of pros and cons by the residents for the basketball court on Cliffview Drive.

Jason Macdonald, 7800 Cliffview Drive speaks to Board about how the kids he sees are respectful towards others and that property.

Brian Flood, 7764 Cliffview Drive speaks of his encounter with the kids who play there are respectful and no issues. It gives the kids somewhere to play. The only concern is this fast cars from a few occasions from the teenagers, but believes that it can be resolved.

Paula Kennedy, 7836 Cliffview Drive shows her concern about the night time and kids being there.

David Kennedy, 7836 Cliffview Drive speaks of two concerns, lights being on all night and lack of parking if there is a small tournament going on.

John Appel, 7816 Cliffview Drive he lives directly across from the basketball court. He believes that it should not be there, a few reasons: lack of parking, no restrooms, and after dark people are there playing.

Jason Macdonald, 7800 Cliffview Drive speaks again of the 90 degree bend by there, that sometimes with a lot of traffic and it can be a concern issue.

Jan Sherman, 7726 Cliffview Drive supports everyone here on what they are saying.

Alex Catsoules, 7708 Cliffview Drive speaks of strong supportive reasoning for keeping the court open.

Heather Kollar, 7997 Cliffview Drive explains that it’s not just the young adults that do speed but adults, school buses and etc.

Christine Crogan, 7716 Cliffview Drive she asks the Board about if the original owner just built this court on the Township Property without asking. And believes they should have been contacted when this was built.

Josh Bader, 3116 Olde Winter Trail expresses strong views about keeping the court open.

Paula Spano, 7727 Cliffview Drive voices her concern about the multiple cars with different plates.

Kevin Taylor, 2927 Algonquin Drive is a Poland High School graduate class 2018 speaks highly of the basketball court, that a lot of other students he spoke with call it the “hidden gem” of Poland.

Matt Slepski, 7027 James Street speaks that there is traffic wherever you go that you can’t help that.

Mr. Ungaro moves to adjourn at 5:58 p.m. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet Roll call vote yes- Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers.

Motion carried.
